Esther Ruth Shalin, was born November 19, 1913 in Belle Fountaine, Ohio to Thomas Cyril and Mabel (Ness) Price. She died at Life Care Center of Andover, Ks on June 12, 2011 at the age of 97.
Esther graduated from Stivers High School, Dayton, OH and graduated from Saint Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Dayton, OH. in 1936 as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Dayton OH and Chicago, IL.. In 1939 she married Henry E. Shalin in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Esther also resided in Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Loma Linda, CA., Newton and Topeka, KS., Azle, Texas and recently of Andover, KS.
She is survived by a son, Tom Shalin and daughter-in-law Sheila of Wichita, KS.; two grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, a cousin and many nieces and nephews.
Esther was always known for her caring and compassionate heart and concern for others. She will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held July 5, 2011 at Hillcrest Community Church, Newton, KS at 2:00 p.m.
