Emma Jean Garnes Washington, 92, of Wichita, KS passed away quietly and peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Garnes Sr., Mother Emma Heard and Step-mother Ermer Lee Garnes; two brothers, Willie B and Nathaniel Conway-Garnes; five sons, George, Benny, Jimmy, Luther Jr. and Curtis and one daughter, Betty. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons; Willie Ray Washington of Emporia, KS; Ronald Washington of Wichita, KS and Anthony Washington of Houston, TX; Three daughters; JoAnn Rogers of Wichita, KS, Sherry Mathews-Washington of Houston, TX and Janice Tippons of Tulsa. Two brothers; Steven and Ervin Garnes both of Wichita, KS; one sister, Hazel Benton of Wichita, KS and over 100 grandchildren. She was a retired domestic worker and property manager.
