Electra (Sugar Lump) R. Allen, 98, passed away May 31, 2009. She was born to Edna & Claybon Denton in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She grew and married William Purvey. Two children were born; William Jr. (who preceded her in death) & Otha Mae.
She joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age and served as usher and other duties until moving to Wichita. She united with Macedonia Baptist Church then later to St. Andrews where she served until her health declined.
She will be truely missed by her family and loved ones.
Electra was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Allen; and son, William Purvey, Jr.
Survivors include; daughter, Otha Dixson; granddaughters, Veda Dixson, Connie Burnett, Lisa Reynolds, Rhonda Cox; grandsons, Barnabas Dixson, Jr., Bradley Purvey, Jr.; seven great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of friends.
A Homegoing Service was held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Kenneth Ollie led the service along with other Pastors of the family.
Burial followed in Old Mission Cemetery.
