Obituary

Eleanor "Ellie" Marie Morton, age 81, has gone home to be with the Lord. She passed away in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, November 28, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. A memorial service is planned for Dec. 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Mission Mortuary and Cemetery, 3424 E. 21st Street, Wichita, Ks.

Ellie will be remembered by her family and friends as a faithful Christian who was a witness to God's unconditional love for them. She is survived by her three daughters; Michelle Rupe (Harry Shallcross), Marcia (Shawn) Borst, and Melinda (Jeff) Bannon, and all of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ellie was born in Eureka, Ks. on April 29, 1934, where many life-long friends were made. She graduated from Eureka High School and then from Brown Mackie business school. As a young adult she moved to Wichita where she worked at Boeing and also met her husband, Harold Morton. Together, they raised their three girls and hosted many, meaningful family events. In mid-life, Ellie enjoyed a career as an Interior Decorator, and "Nanny's special touch" is preserved in the homes of family members. Ellie is predeceased by Harold; her parents, Fred and Corinne Hedges; her sister, Hazel "Jeri" Daniel; her brother-in-law, Max Daniel; her brother, Jack Hedges, and many dear friends.
