Obituary

Eldon passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born on April 7, 1928 in Belle Plaine, KS, as the youngest child of Loren and Hattie (Roll) Watts. He attended and graduated Douglass, KS, high school and Butler County Junior College. Following graduation, he was drafted for the Korean War and was a radio operator for the Army. He spent many a cold day and night in the combat zone. Upon his return from Korea, he worked for 20 years at Boeing Aircraft and was married to Joanne (Pierce) Watts. Following his retirement at Boeing, he worked for many years in real estate. Eldon excelled in real estate. Many of his clients kept in touch for years after the sale. He was a friend to many. He enjoyed farming, gardening and being a good neighbor. When a classmate or relatives birthday arrived, you could expect a card from Eldon. He would never forget. If a friend or relative was hospitalized, you could expect many visitations from him. Eldon was very compassionate. He was a member of the Douglass Masonic Lodge #151 and the Midian Shrine of Wichita. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne; sister, Ramona of Douglass and brothers, Dale of Douglass and Dean of Augusta. He is survived by nephews, Loren Rucker, John Snell and Troy Watts.
