Eddie Allen Reed, 76 of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on May 17, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1948, in Independence, Kansas, to Luther Reed Sr. and Ester Freeman.

Eddie was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones. He had a close relationship with his cousin Alice Love who provided him with valuable guidance throughout his life. Eddie often spoken fondly of his Aunt Wanda and the impact she had on him. He also held dear memories of the walkers who played a significant role in his life.

A man of faith, Eddie found solace in his beliefs and was a dedicated churchgoer. His unwavering faith in God remained steadfast even when he could no longer attend church.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Reed, Godparents; Susie Hunt and Daniel Burke of Victorville California, step sister; Helen Jean Jones, Brother Luther Reed (Mary), Phillip, Clarence and Clinton (Delisha). Stepbrothers Bishop Walter Simpson (Artherene) Bishop Melvin Simpson (Sandra Kaye); Sons Eddie Reed Jr ( Nicole) and Isaish Reed; Stepson Micky Sheilnbarger (Jessica); Stepdaughter Carol Thompson (Chris), and Barbara Zakholy ( Meiser). Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Luther Reed, mother Ester Freeman, stepmother Clara Reed, grandparents, and brother Calvin Reed and Cecil Reed.

Service for Eddie Allen Reed will include, visitation on June 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. at the Old Mission Mortuary located at 3424 E. 21st North, Wichita, Kansas 67208.  Funeral service will be held on June 14th, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. also at Old Mission Mortuary.
