Dorothy Lawing passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Harry Hynes Hospice - St. Francis.
In honor of Dorothy's life a Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2008 at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Ruth Wagner Bradshaw of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate.
Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery, Garden of the Last Supper.
Dorothy was born January 25, 1919 in Cherryvale, Kansas to William and Lillie (Sinclair) Brown.
On August 3, 1940 she married Frank Harold Lawing in Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Braschler.
Mourning her passing, Dorothy leaves behind daughter, Mary (husband, Wells C.) Hamilton; granddaughters, Wynne Hamilton and Glenna Hamilton; great-granddaughters Bayleigh Hamilton, Layla Bagley, Ella Dorrah; sister, Maxine Welch; niece, Sharon Surritte; nephew, David Welch.
