Delphine Tasset (Downey) was born January 20, 1935 in Jetmore, KS to Henry and Clara Downey. She died peacfully on December 11, 2024. On Aug. 20, 1953 Delphine married Quentin H. Tasset in Windhorst, KS. They had 4 children. After raising her kids, she entered the workplace working at several companies before retiring from USD259 in 2000 as a learning disability paraprofessional. She had a special place in her heart for many of the students who came through the classroom where she helped. Delphine had a deep faith and believed God would provide. She practiced her Catholic faith walking daily to Church and saying the rosary with Quentin every day. She loved high fashion, high heels and a trip every once in a while to a casino. Delphine's parents, brothers, William and Tom and twin sister Maxine preceded her death. She was also preceded in death by her youngest son Eric who passed Aug. 30, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Quentin; daughters, Denise (Dan) Allis, Tama Dutton (Steve Craig), son, Tim (Andrea) Tasset; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A visitation will be Monday, Dec. 16, 4-8 pm at Old Mission Mortuary. A rosary will be prayed at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Wichita, KS Dec. 17, 2024 at 9:30 AM and the Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 10 Am. Burial will be at Old Mission/ Wichita Park Cemetery, 3424 E 21st ST. N. Wichita. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Lords Diner 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214.
