David Lewis Hurst 78, was born on April 18, 1947 to Rex Hurst and Virginia Hurst (Wingfield) in Neosho, Missouri. He passed away in his home with his wife by his side on November 12, 2025.

David was a Sergeant in the National Guard 128th Assault Helicopter Company and served in Vietnam in 1969. In 1977 he married his wife June. They were married for 48 years. He worked as a Dietary Manager for local nursing homes and retired in 2012. He enjoyed doing leather work and enjoyed competing with the Cowboy Fastdraw Shooting Club.

David is survived by his wife June of Park City, his daughter Kimberly Andries (Bret) of Ellis, Kansas. Grandchildren, Samantha Crawford (Ethan) of Wichita Kansas, Clara North (Logan) of Ellis, Kansas, George Crawford IV of Ellis, Kansas, Liam Crawford of Ellis, Kansas. Great Grandson Colter North of Ellis, Kansas. His daughter Tammy Brandt (Scott) and family of Iowa. Son, Christopher Hurst and family, daughter Ginny Hurst and family.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, and his daughter Tracy Lynne.
