IN LOVING MEMORY OF
D. Joanne
Lytle
September 1, 1932 – June 30, 2025
D. Joanne Lytle, lovingly known as DJ, entered the arms of the Lord on June 30, 2025. Born to Clayton and Mable Fletcher on September 1, 1932, she lived a life of quiet strength, service, and devotion.
After graduating from Wichita's East High School in 1950, DJ worked with the Extension Homemakers Unit and as a secretary at Boeing after graduating from Friends University.
In 1952 she married Robert D Lytle her high school sweetheart. Together they raised two children Paul and Susan.
DJ survived much tragedy in her life with the loss of her father at age 12 and a younger brother. A strong resilient DJ created a warm home: cooking family meals, sewing, caring for pets, and enjoying a fun shopping trip. DJ cared tenderly for her own mother in her later years. Her unwavering love shaped every generation that followed.
Her survivors include daughter, Susan Lytle Martin; daughter in law, Virginia N. Lytle; grandchildren, Trevor Lytle, Zachary Lytle, Andy Martin and Abby Martin and great grandchild Gregory Paul Lytle.
DJ is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lytle (1999); son, Paul A. Lytle and brothers, Richard D. Fletcher, Thad (Sonny) Fletcher and Clayton D. Fletcher.
DJ's kindness, resilience, and devotion will be cherished always.
