IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clyde Ray
Hines Jr.
August 26, 1977 – July 11, 2024
Clyde (Snuff, Snuffy, Big Chief) Ray Hines Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep at the tender age of 46 years on the 11th day of July 2024 at Saint Francis hospital in Wichita. He was born on the 26th day of August 1977 to Carla Jean Thompson Hines and Clyde Hines Sr at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
He was raised and attended school in Sulphur Springs, TX. Clyde was an extremely proud graduate of the class of 1995. He maintained a bond and brotherhood with his classmates from Sulphur Springs. While living in Texas he fathered his first child, Jakavian Hines.
After some persuasion from his baby sister (only sibling), LaKeisha Hines, he moved to Wichita, KS and established a new life there. After settling in he fathered his 2nd born son Sebastian Turner in 2007 and a daughter in 2014, Cy'Niyah Hines. He was honored to claim the title of dad to her sisters Tasia and Asia. He also loved and bonded with her brother Durante. Clyde absolutely loved being a girl dad. He always bragged on all his babies but had a major sweet spot for his three girls.
Clyde was a jack of all trades, at one point even earning a HVAC degree. He worked various jobs that sparked his interest but favored being a forklift driver. He spent the last six years of his life navigating through his diagnosis of kidney failure and long commitment to dialysis. He never let his health status slow him down or affect the way he wanted to live his life. Being amongst family and friends, listening to good music and enjoying good food was top tier living in his opinion and kept him satisfied. He loved to talk and interact with people and often became the life of the party. He always had the ability to make someone smile or become consumed with laughter.
Clyde leaves to cherish his memory his mom, sister, all of his children, nephew Harrington Hines, niece Destiney Johnson-Hines, uncle Lendell Thompson, aunts Janice McLaurin and Connie Anderson and 1st cousin Glenda Hall Garrett.
He is proceeded in death by his father Clyde Sr., uncles Odell and Harry James Thompson and aunt Betty Thompson and baby boy Ceonte
A memorial service will be held at Madison Avenue Church of Christ, 1740 N. Madison Wichita, KS on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
