Claire Ann Daniels was born in Wichita Kansas on November 5th 1943 to Gifford Marsden Booth Jr and Natalie Ring Booth. She passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita KS on July 25, 2026.
Claire grew up in College Hill and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for most of her life. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and attended Clark University in Dubuque, Iowa. She later graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration from Friends University. Claire grew up hearing stories of marketing adventures from her father and quickly embraced the marketing profession. She began working with local advertising agencies such as Associated Advertising and she later helped establish and grow Lida Advertising and Chamberlin Nicks. In the latter part of her career, she managed The Kansas Medical Group Management Association (KMGMA) and the Kansas Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, where she ran their board meetings and annual conferences.
Claire was a devoted Catholic and a deeply spiritual woman who lived her faith. She joined the Saint Vincent De Paul Society and became a Vincentian, helping families and individuals in crisis. She volunteered to wrap presents at Christmas or pick up hundreds of pounds of produce to be delivered for meals. She could be counted on to manage the society's phone line at all times of the day and night.
Prior to moving to The Catholic Care Center, Claire lived at Park Lane Towers where again she followed in her father’s footsteps and became the Board President. Claire knew no strangers and made friends everywhere she went. She was the anchor of many friend groups and the catalyst for impromptu dinner parties with her friends.
In 1973, she and her former husband, Pete Daniels, had their son Peter. Claire adored her son and provided him with every opportunity to develop into who he is today. She encouraged his creativity, supported his love of antique toys and was proud to help sell a Wichita Rain Barrel whenever asked.
Claire loved a good adventure, from her first road trip with Peter to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to her month-long unplanned car trip to the southwest with one of her best friends. She traveled to Italy with friends and to London with her family. She loved to attend music theater, plays at Roxy’s Uptown and concerts at the Cotillion. She was frequently described as the brightest light in a room whose smile and brilliance will be missed by many.
She is survived by her son Peter McCall Daniels and her daughter-in-law Chenoa Simmons-Daniels, her sister Joan Iversen (Glen Iversen), brother Gifford Booth III (Chuck Vassallo), and many nieces and nephews and beloved extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Marsha Booth & Natalie Dowd and brother-in-law Arnie Dowd.
A special mass will be held in Claire's honor at the Catholic Care Center (6700 45th St N. Bel Aire, KS) on Sunday August 2nd 2026 at 9:30 am. Limited seating will be available.
The Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (124 N Roosevelt Wichita, KS) on Wednesday August 5th at 10:30 am. A rosary will be held at 10:00.
A party in honor of Claire will be held on November 7, the day and time will be announced at a later date. The family wish is to have all of her friends come together to celebrate Claire, tell stories and maybe create some new friends along the way.
A memorial fund has been established at The Blessed Sacrament Saint Vincent De Paul Society in honor of Claire.
