Christine Magafos
Stathis
October 1, 1928 – November 7, 2021
Christine "Teenie" Magafos Stathis, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Christine was formerly of Oklahoma City, OK and moved to Wichita upon marriage. She graduated Central High School and Oklahoma City University. She was a homemaker and a retiree of Northwest High School as secretary in 1994 after 20 years of service with USD 259. Christine was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and a member of several philanthropy organizations and awarded a number of recognitions. Christine was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, godmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents and stepdaughter Dena (Stathis) Lemke; stepson, Ronald (Chris) Stathis; and brothers-in-law, Samuel & George Stathis. Survivors include her husband, Phil; son, Eugene (Eleni) of Wichita; daughter, Irene Trester of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; cousins, nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to her "faith" and "family". Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021 at Old Mission Mortuary, 3424 E. 21st. St. N., Wichita, KS; Trisagion & Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 805 Dellrose, Wichita, KS 67208 with interment following in the Old Mission Cemetery. The family requests full COVID protocols while attending the service. A memorial has been established with the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
