Charles Taylor passed away on September 7, 2022 from terminal cancer. He was born on August 15, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee. His parents were Harold Gene and Oma Mazelle (Griffin) Taylor. He was the third of four children. His father was career Navy. He lived in many different places growing up including Alaska. Mostly he lived in California. He graduated from high school in 1969 in Sangley Point, Philippines. He really loved playing band instruments in high school, especially the clarinet.
After high school, he took some college classes and worked at an appliance repair shop and a gas station. In 1971, he joined the Air Force. H was able to work on the SR-71 as a mechanic. He also went to Thailand. His service was during the Vietnam War. He also learned to cut gemstones while in Thailand.
After coming back from to the states, he married Jenny Story. They had three children; Tim, Jamie and Erin. They were divorced in 1978. Chuck worked in Southern California and in 1980 moved to Wichita, Kansas to be close to his parents. There he met Diane Dunn. They were married in 1981 in the Manti temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Manti, Utah. They had four children; James, Crystal, Michael and Tiffany.
Chuck had an Associate Degree in Electronics and a Bachelor and Masters degree in Computer Science. Chuck worked as a systems analyst, network administrator, a tester in robotics for the government. He was able to have a two week assignment to Saudi Arabia to work for Aramco.
He loved taking things apart and seeing how they worked. He loved making things. One of his last projects was a clock. It was an honor for him to work at the Oklahoma City Temple. He loved his children and Grandchildren.
Charles is servived by his wife Diane, sister Anita (Charlie), Children: Lauren, Tim (Angela), Jamie (Rockey), Erin (Clark), James (Jessica), Crystal, Michael and Tiffany. He has eleven Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.
