Carol Joan Swem, 81, passed away September 21, 2023, at Reflection Living in Wichita, Kansas, with family by her side.

She was born July 26, 1942, to Johnnie Virgil and Lela lone Goodall, in Minneapolis, Kansas. For most of her adult life, she lived and worked in Newton, Kansas, where she raised two daughters. Upon retirement, she moved to Maize, Kansas, to be closer to her grandchildren.

Carol leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She could be quite mischievous and even ornery at times which kept us on our toes. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She was immensely proud of her granddaughters and as her health declined, she relished hearing about their lives. Her unconditional love and support have been the greatest gift and we are truly blessed.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Shirley Stubbs, and daughter Lisa R. Unruh.

She is survived by her daughter Robyn Swanson and son-in-law Don Swanson II, both of Wichita; two granddaughters Kaylee Swanson of Derby and Paige Swanson of Houston; and two brothers, Johnnie D. Goodall and Michael Goodall, both of Newton.

Burial services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Old Mission Mausoleum, Wichita, Kansas, near her parents.
