Carol Jean Streiff passed away on December 30, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born June 24, 1931 in Spiro, Oklahoma to Ernest Eli Watson & Lera Sunshine Palmer. Carol was the youngest of three children. The two older sisters were Ruth & Okal. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas when Carol was a young girl. Her mother passed away when Carol was eleven years old. Carol lived with her older sister, Ruth, on the family farm while attending high school. She graduated from Rose Hill High School in 1949. After high school, Carol worked in the office of an oil company in downtown Wichita.

Carol met and married Patrick Streiff in 1952 after he was discharged from the United States Army. Pat and Carol had one boy, Philip Jay, in 1954 and one girl, Gina May, in 1958. After the children were out of grade school, Carol worked at Rose Hill State Bank until her retirement.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, sisters and husband, Patrick. She was a loving and patient caregiver for her husband during the illness leading to his death in 2001. Carol and Patrick had been married for 49 years.

Carol loved and cared for her family all of her life. In her latter years, she especially loved being with her five grandchildren: Taylor, Tianna, Tarah, Jakob and Jesse.

Carol enjoyed cooking, growing flowers, sewing, reading, playing games and visiting with friends & family. Carol attended church since she was a girl, but was unable to do so in her last few years. Thankfully, she was able to enjoy living in her home until her death. She had good neighbors who helped her with tasks around the house that she could not handle.

Carol had a sharp mind and loved to hear and tell funny stories. We especially loved to hear her reminisce about the 'old days' and learn more about relatives and ancestors long gone. We will miss mom and grandma, but we know she is in a better place now with her lord Jesus and we will cherish her memory in our hearts and celebrate her life. We are richly blessed for having her in our lives. So, we will not say good bye, but see you later.
