Bonnie Van
Sickle
August 10, 1943 – November 13, 2021
Bonnie A. Van Sickle, of Wichita went to be with our Lord on November 13, 2021. She was born on August 10, 1943, to Thomas and Zelma Cartwright and she was the youngest of three children. Bonnie graduated from Douglas High School. She united in marriage to Jack Van Sickle on October 14, 1978. Bonnie loved the Lord and Bonnie and Jack would attend different churches through the years. Saturdays were special to Bonnie and Jack because of their Sabbath Bible study. Bonnie was employed at Cessna and worked as a special education para at USD 259. Bonnie was active in the Lewis Street Singers and other musical groups for many years. She would perform at senior centers, churches, and nursing homes. Singing was a passion that she had her whole life. Another passion was dancing. Bonnie and Jack actively participated in square, round, line, and ballroom dancing. Some fellow dancers shared she had perfect rhythm. She was dancing up to a month before her departure. A third passion was her interest in arts and crafts. She loved to knit and crochet and participated in other crafts as well. Survivors include husband Jack; sister Marilyn Davis; son Tim Ford and wife Brenda; daughter Gayla Bryant; stepson Ron Van Sickle and wife Julie: step daughters Lorraine Ficarra and husband Michael; Linda Hudlin and 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
