Betty Ann (Melick) Ackerman, homemaker and long-time worker in the Wichita State University Registrar's office, passed away February 26, 2020 at the age of 77. Betty is survived by her husband, Paul; children Robert (Bradley) Ackerman, of Colby, Kansas and Sally Oakley of Wichita. She is preceded in death by her son William Bryan Ackerman. Betty was born on May 27, 1942, in Hartford City, Indiana to Albert and Neva Melick. She graduated from Colby High School in 1960. After high school she attended business school in Topeka, Kansas, leading to employment as a controller with Santa Fe Railroad. She soon married her high school sweetheart, Paul, in 1962. She moved to Wichita with her husband in 1968. Betty was always faithful, supportive, and loving to her husband and children. She loved to play bridge with her many friends. She stayed close to her sister, Barbara, in California and sometimes in the Midwest
