IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna
Mills
January 27, 1937 – January 19, 2024
Anna Frances Wilson Mills, lifetime resident of Wichita, KS, went to be present with the Lord on January 19, 2024. Anna was born and raised in Wichita, attending College Hill Elementary, Robinson Junior High, and East High School. She attended Monticello College in Godfrey, IL for two years, and then the University of Kansas for the following two years. She pledged Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and it was at KU where she met and married Belden Mills. Their son, Jeff, was born in Lawrence, and the family moved back to Wichita a couple of years later.
Anna maintained many interests throughout her lifetime, including as a Theta alumna, a sorority affiliation she shared with her granddaughter, Heather. In addition to early involvement with Wichita Collegiate School, she enjoyed ceramics sculpturing, photography, travelling, her tap dancing groups, her church, and her long time association and volunteer work with the Kansas Humane Society, Music Theatre Wichita, and the Theatre Guild. She even graced the stage in a couple of MTW's productions.
Anna was blessed with many long-time as well as new friends, and will be remembered as a "social butterfly" who was lovingly devoted to her family, pets, and friends, and for her energy, generosity, and her witty and sometimes kooky sense of humor.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Virginia Wilson, and her husband of 64 years, Belden Mills. She is survived by their son, Jeff, daughter-in-law, Olivia, granddaughters, Heather and Michelle, and her two Bichons, Jenny and Duffy, all of whom will miss her very much.
The family would like to thank her friend and caregiver, Diane, as well as the caregivers and staff of Home Instead.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at University Congregational Church, 9209 E. 29th Street North, Wichita, KS 67226 (March 12, 2 PM). A reception will follow in UCC's Rhatigan Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation consideration to Lifeline Animal
