Alta Fern Ehrlich passed from this world peacefully at her home in Delaware, Oklahoma on January 9, 2018 at the age of 91. Born on March 17, 1926 in Chautauqua County, Kansas to Jay B. McNown and Myrtle Lee. She received her education in Moline Kansas before moving to California to pursue a life andcareer at Hughes Aircraft where she retired after 33 years of service. Alta returned to kansas in 1988 after retiring where she met and married her husband Jack on July 3, 1989 and enjoyed 28 years of marriage. They made their life in Texas before moving to Delaware, Oklahoma where she has spent the last 18 years. Alta enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping and the outdoors, but most of all she enjoyed knitting pot holders for people. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Jake, of the home, in Delaware, Oklahoma, 2 grandsons, Jason McColm of Phelan California, Jeremy McColm of Minneapolis, MN; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Peggy Ward of Wichita, Kansas, and special friend Robin Moreland. She is preceded by her only child Bruce McColm; parents Jay B. and Myrtle McNown; 5 sisters, Loriane Runyon, Charlene McNown, Margarie Wilson, Arlene Day and Louise Seward; 5 brothers, Jay B. JR, Gerald Willard, Russell and Donald.
